Explore Ushuaia National Park
On a wide bay on the southern coast of Tierra del Fuego lays Ushuaia, the Southernmost city of the World. With a population of about 60.000 inhabitants; the city is bordered on its northern edge by the Martial mountain range and its southern end by the Beagle Channel.
Our tours, suitable also for cruise passengers schedules, will take you on a journey through the city, its surroundings, its nature, its inhabitants, their customs and many key-places of historical relevance -such as the former presidio of Ushuaia, which operated as such between 1902 and 1947, renowned not only for being the southernmost prison in the world, but also for being the founding reason of the whole city.
City tour of Ushuaia and then only 4 miles from the city lays the National Park where visitors can enjoy the forest, beaver, dams, peat- bogs, and lakes as well. We always try to avoid the mass of people when possible, in order to to be alone with nature and birds. Some of the highlights are Bahia Ensenada, Acigami (or Roca) lake and Bahia Lapataia all of them with very nice views. If you are passionate or interested in bird watching we can include it or just make a 6-hour bird watching tour in the National park (in this case without the city tour). Condors, Magellanic woodpeckers, Austral Pygmy-owl, geese, Steamer Ducks, Caracaras, Austral Parakeet, Thorn tailed-rayadito, Spectacled duck among others, could be seen with the experience of your specialized guide.
